About:
The Golden Hobby Shop is operated by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department as a non-profit consignment shop for Ohio senior artists and craftspeople. Since it opened in 1971, more than 5,000 members have sold items through the Shop.
The Golden Hobby Shop opened its present location at 630 South Third Street in German Village on September 1, 1981. Formally, The Third Street School, the 149 year old building was purchased and renovated by the City of Columbus to provide the Golden Hobby Shop ample area for sales and displays.
The most valuable asset is our staff of volunteers who give their time and effort to making the Golden Hobby shop a great success.
