Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM) is a faith-based counseling, teaching and charity organization that fosters the growth of the whole person. Founded in 1976 in Beaverton Oregon, Good Samaritan Ministries has grown to serve thousands in over 200 centers located across the globe. Each unique center focuses on helping people with their greatest needs in each community.
In 2016 we sponsored 8,000 children to attend school through our center in Uganda and more than a thousand counselors' work in Burundi. We support micro-credit loans in third-world countries that help people start business in order to be self-sustaining.
Locally, we have centers across the Pacific Northwest that offer donation-based counseling, trainings and classes. Each person receives loving encouragement towards growth from a skilled counselor. Our volunteer efforts support our work entirely as we employ only six people at our Headquarters. We are entirely supported through volunteerism and donations as we receive no government grants or aid.
We are thankful to God and our fellow man that we are able to change the world through offering love and acceptance to each person who we encounter on the broken road.
