Government Peak Recreation Area at Hatcher Pass

The gate is open in winter from 8 am to 9 pm. The lights were turned on in winter 2017 for 3.5 miles of Nordic ski trails at Government Peak Recreation Area. There's also more than 3 miles of fat bike trails. A steep hike up Government Peak in summer is another fun outlet. It's 4,777 feet up, up,up.

The Borough owns the regional recreation area.
