Grace Presbyterian Church of the North Shore

Grace Presbyterian Church finds her roots in the historic creeds of the world-wide church. Our belief is historic because it rests on the experiences, insights, and learning of the church since the coming of Jesus. Our belief is catholic because we are spiritually united with the global community of all Christians, an essential truth that is easily obscured by the denominational labels that seem to divide Christ’s body, the church.

While rooted in a catholic creedal tradition, our faith has been shaped by our participation in a fuller formulation of beliefs and practices. We are a part of the stream of Protestant Christianity that began in the seventeenth century. More specifically we are Presbyterians. Presbyterians join in faith and practice through the Westminister Confession of Faith and Catechisms.

The Westminster Confession was produced in the 17th century in England. It was written by hundreds of pastors and elders who met over a period of several years. The goal was to unite the church of Jesus by a unified expression of doctrine, worship, and church government. Though the language of this creed is antiquated it remains an incredibly helpful resource for the church as we look forward to see God's continued work in and through his people.
