Gracious Grub

Chef Pita Grewal has been a chef at heart all her life. As a child growing up in India, she learned from her mother that the best tasting food was created by the freshest quality ingredients. After coming to the US, it only took a little encouragement from her family, for her to train at Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento. After working in the food industry in various capacities, Chef Pita is sharing her passion for all aspects of food with the opening of Gracious Grub.
Philosophy
All food prepared is fresh, natural, seasonal and packed with nutrients. When possible, locally grown organic produce, organic eggs, humanely raised meats and poultry and sustainable seafood is used. This includes loads of fresh produce, whole grains, nuts, seeds and herbs as well as healthy fats like olive oil and avocado. The menu changes daily with the availability of locally grown and organic ingredients — including fruits and vegetables from the certified farmers market in Alameda and Santa Clara Counties.
Chef Pita’s passion for using the highest quality ingredients, practicing artisan cooking methods and focusing on local and organic products is the center of Gracious Grub.
Gracious Grub supports local farmers and buys items directly from farmers whenever possible. We believe that fresh, local and seasonal food is not only better for our communities but also tastes better. We share our passion for the farm to table movement in everything we make.
