Gran Sasso's prestigious culinary team is led by three-time one Michelin-star Chef, Luca Casadio. He was honored by the Chefs of America as a member of its “America’s 2000” list. Mr. Casadio cut his teeth at three-Michelin starred restaurants in Italy and France, as well as notable establishments in New York City and across the United States. Born in Ravenna, Italy, Mr. Sasso and Chef Casadio began their decades-long friendship and professional collaboration when Pietro employed Chef Casadio’s wife at his Manhattan-based restaurant venture, “Sasso”, in the mid-nineties. Chef Casadio is a master at hand making Italy’s pièce de résistance—pasta. However, his palate high points his predilection for fish, meat, and vegetables within the Italian triad principle of quality, freshness, and simplicity.
