Grandma's House - A Vision of Hope

Grandma’s House is a program that supports children in grades K-6 who are performing below the California Standards for their grade level, in the areas of reading, writing and math. Grandma’s House provides support for students who struggle academically due to behavioral issues and/or live in adverse conditions such as poverty, abuse, or neglect. Grandma’s House is located in Tulare, California in Tulare County. With the support of volunteer grandparents and other city resources, Grandma’s House works with students, supporting them academically and emotionally.

Grandma's House provides tutoring based upon the identified needs of the student. A hands-on approach is used as part of the instructional delivery. Students are involved in activities that include the various learning modalities. For students who have struggled academically, due to behavioral issues, Grandma's House provides various activities to address social behaviors.

An old African Proverb says, "It takes a village to raise a child", Grandma’s House is that village in the community.
