Greater Community Bible Tabernacle

Greater Community Bible Tabernacle is a product of Community, which was started under the illustrious ministry of the late Bishop Wallace W. Smith. In the mid 1990’s the church was reorganized as the result of a group of seven faithful women members called the Concerned Members of CBT.

Many of its original members are deceased, but as a result of their efforts and the efforts of others the church is now a vital, active part of the Philadelphia church community. In April 1997 Rev. Stacey Roberts became the interim pastor and was installed as pastor in 1999 by the late Bishop Quander L. Wilson, then Prelate of the Greater Emmanuel International Fellowship.

In 2001 Elder Freeman Wilson, Jr. was installed as assistant pastor and served faithfully until his death in December 2007. GCBT, as we are affectionately known, has weathered many storms but we have grown because of God’s blessing and the hard work of committed, faithful and generous members. Greater Community Bible Tabernacle is a member of the International Fellowship of Churches under the leadership of founder and Prelate Bishop Audrey F. Bronson, D. Min.

Our theme is New Day New Direction and we look forward with great anticipation to expanding even more so that we can better serve the Body of Christ as well as the local community. We believe that what we do for Christ should be done in the Spirit of Excellence as stated in Colossians 3: 23-24, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.

It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” We are striving to be a multi-faceted, multicultural church. Our theme is Ignite, Incite and Invite. What we Believe Greater Community Bible Tabernacle believes in the power of prayer and praise. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver those who are bound by spiritual, social, familial, financial and emotional diseases.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God and that the preaching of the Gospel will Believe that the Church is God’s house and that he has invited everyone to His spiritual feast regardless of race, color, creed, ethnicity, Are you a hurter or a healer?
