Elder J.S. King arrived to Los Angeles in 1951. With his family, he untied with "Palm Lane C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Conedy in 1952. Elder King Laboured as deacon and a Sunday School teacher with the class of 75 brothers. During this time Palm Lane moved from 11904 Compton Avenue to it's present locaton of 11730 South Central Avenue. Elder King was assigned to "Wayside" by Bishop Harold Conedy. Brother Jimmie Moats was a deacon and Sister Dessie Moats was a Sunday School teacher at Palm Lane C.O.G.I.C. in 1954. Elder King, with Bishop Harold Conedy's, permission designated Deacon Jimmie Moats & Sis.Dessie Moats to assist him with his Ministry.

After the passing of Pastor King at the age of 93 yrs. old in 1998, Assistant Pastor C.A. Cole, Of Greater Wayside C.O.G.I.C. became our pastor. He is a man that believies in God. Pastor Cole is a praying man. He is our Moses who will lead us to the Promise Land. Pastor Cole is a man with one wife First Lady Minnie Cole, father of two children, Elaine Cole and Daphne (Cole) Taylor. Pastor Cole has six grandchildren. He is known in our surroundings as the preacher with the Blessed Oil. He orders his blessed oil from headquarters in Memphis, Tenn. with the herbs in it as the bible speaks of and how to use it in James 5:14 & 15. Also, in II Corinthians 5:17 it says: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new.
