As we all know the emissions put out by land clearing and cutting machines are toxic to us and our environment as well as the obnoxious noise being toxic to our ears. Alternately some of us have turned to the use of harsh chemicals, namely herbicides, which are actually just as toxic to our environment and eventually us as well. A little known fact is that 95% of chemicals used on outdoor plants (weeds) unintentionally reach a destination other than their intended target, ending up in our waterways and sometimes even in the food we eat!
Well now there's a better way...Green Goat offers not only the cutest "lawn mowers" imaginable but also an innovative and eco-friendly approach to underbrush clearing and land management. Our humane grazing practice is ecologically and environmentally superior to any other clearing or cleaning efforts available. There's NO use of any chemicals, herbicides, or fuel. We utilize solar power when we have a need for containment by electric netted fencing and the battery operated saws are used for clearing brush for fencing. Our goats are naturally graceful climbers and enjoy rough and uneven terrain so they have no problem going where heavy machinery (and not so heavy ie: lawn mowers) just can't. They eat a wide variety of unwanted vegetation such as briars, thistles, and the ever problematic poison ivy and kudzu, as well as all kinds of weeds. All this while leaving the soil naturally aerated and fertilized.

Our goats can quietly and effeciently clear all kinds of unwanted vegetation from your property leaving it clear, open, and fertilized to do with as you wish. Goats are perfect for any size area. They can easily clean up a small yard just in need of some regular maintenance, as well as tackling larger more overgrown or completely neglected and wooded areas. Most often there's no piles of debris or at the very least much less of it to haul away or burn.
In most cases the process is very easy and requires no permits on the part of the property owner only possibly the approval of your HOA or neighborhood covenant. An experienced Green Goat representative will make an initial visit to help you determine the best plan of action for your specific property and an estimated time frame and price. If necessary, on or possibly the day prior to your grazer delivery date a temporary solar powered netted fence will be installed around all or a portion of the yard/property to be cleaned/cleared (sometimes it's more time efficient for them to work in sections especially in larger areas). On your grazer delivery date the herd along with their guardian(s) are brought in to quietly clean/clear the property. The time it takes, of course, will depend on the size of the property to be cleaned/cleared, the density of the vegetation, and how many goats are to be used (all of these will have been discussed on the initial visit). When the goats have finished cleaning/clearing they are herded back, the fencing is removed, and you are free to do whatever is desired with your newly manageable property.
All set up (fencing, signs, water troughs, and shelter) will be done by Green Goat unless otherwise discussed and is accessed at a minimum fee of $50. There may also be a small amount of brush cutting that will have to be done by hand. This will account for some of the portion of plants that the goats will not eat (ie: woody stalks) or anything that may be potentially hazardous, but in most cases it's mainly to make sure the netted fence can be set up without being snagged.
