More about Green Grounds at UVA

Although formed in 2004 by planning and architecture students to address green design at the University, the group has expanded to include many different aspects of sustainability from all different areas of the University. Green Grounds is a project based sustainability organization that focuses on greening our University and community. We have a number of project groups, including Cans to Cans (a Greek recycling and hunger program), Biophilia project, Green Corner Consulting, Green Health, and Green Squad (miscellaneous projects). If Green Grounds does not already offer an area or program of interest, it is also happy to incubate new ideas and projects.

We meet every Wednesday at 7pm. Feel free to message us if you are interested in finding out more or joining our organization.

**Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
