More about Greens & Grounds

Greens & Grounds developed out of my love for coffee. As for many others, it first was a way to start the day: wake up, and be ready for the challenges ahead of me. But then I started to understand coffee as an opportunity, a philosophy which I want to put forward through Greens & Grounds.

I carefully selected the Espresso bean I wanted to put into my lattes. Here it was important to me that it was an Arabica bean. Grown in a high altitude, the lack of harmful insects means that pesticides are not necessary. I had to find a local provider who is in close contact with the farmers in the origin countries. This is how I decided for the coffee bean from the Little Red Wagon Coffee Roasters for our Espresso and Drip coffee, as well as, the Ghost Town Roasters for our decaffeinated beans. Both their coffee is roasted right here in Bozeman and completely fulfilled all my expectations in taste and trade.

A substantial ingredient for a good latte is, of course, the milk. I decided for the products from the Kalispell Kreamery. Here again it was important that the supplier was as local as possible and as natural as possible. Kalispell Kreamery does not add hormones or antibiotics to their products. Half & Half and Whole Milk provide our coffee with the necessary dairy. If you cannot do dairy, we offer organic Soy or Coconut milk as well.

At last, what makes a coffee whole for most people? The sweetener. Here I like to offer our customers good alternatives. Sugar is, of course, delicious and sweetens up your day, but not everyone wants or can use sugar. I tried almost every natural sweetener there is on the market. What I chose to offer are Stevia (also flavored in Vanilla or Orange), Agave natural sweetener and Monk fruit extract, both of which are low in the glycemic index, raw honey and of course sugar.

For us it does not stop with the sweetener. We offer a variety of supplements. Have organic Coconut oil or grass-fed butter mixed within your coffee and get healthy fats with your portion of caffeine. Do your joints and bones seem to hurt lately? Just add a tablespoon of kosher and grass-fed pure protein collagen to your coffee. On a regular basis, this can solve those problems.

For us a cup of coffee is much more than just ‘a cup of coffee’.
