Greenwood is a town in Jackson County, Florida, United States. Greenwood is only ten miles from Marianna and Malone; as such, most citizens work and go to school in either of those towns.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 735 people, 296 households, and 200 families residing in the town. The population density was 153.3 inhabitants per square mile (59.1/km²). There were 335 housing units at an average density of 69.9 per square mile (26.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 66.67% White, 26.94% African American, 1.22% Native American, 0.95% Asian, 1.90% from other races, and 2.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.72% of the population.There were 300 households out of which 29.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 29.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.99.
