The IYFL is a select spring football league that plays indoors using arena football rules. Here are the important “need-to-knows” to get you going:
- The IYFL has three planned Age Divisions: Senior (14U); Junior (12U); Rookie (10U)
The age cut off is August 1st:
Senior Division (14U) – Cannot be 15 before August 1st, 2013 AND cannot be a high school freshman (9th grade)
Junior Division (12U) – Cannot be 13 before August 1st, 2013
Rookie Division (10U) – Cannot be 11 before August 1st, 2013
- Each team is a franchise of the IYFL designated only by Division and Color (example: Senior Black)
- Teams are not affiliated with any other team, organization or franchise outside the IYFL
- The IYFL is a “Select” All-Star league and players are actively recruited to play on our teams
- Players that are recruited sign binding “Letters-of-Intent” to get on to a roster
- Players that are not recruited are considered free-agents and attend open tryouts hosted by the IYFL
- Free-agents that attend open tryouts are subject to a draft by the teams in their Division
- Players register directly with the IYFL at Signing Day held in early February
- Players provide their own equipment; players are encouraged to borrow equipment from their fall team
We strongly encourage players to wear their fall teams helmet to represent their “home team”
Some Head Coaches have equipment available for rent; contact Head Coaches directly
- Standard IYFL practice and game uniforms are provided by the IYFL for each team
- Teams have 20 players with specific roster positions
- Teams have 5 coaches with specific coaching roles
- Player fees include participation in the following:
