My name is Andy Griffith, but I'm not a sheriff and I don't live in Mayberry. I am a husband to my beautiful bride Nicole of 5 years, a father to my amazing 4 year old daughter Delilah, and a passionate lover of Jesus. We live in southeast Michigan and meet with other Jesus-lovers at Redeemer Fellowship Church in Monroe, MI.
In early 2009 I had a supernatural encounter with God just before my 21st birthday. At that time I was a self-described atheist suffering from depression and loneliness. A friend invited me to church one night and I went only for the sake of being around people. After hearing the testimony of young man's supernatural deliverance from drug addiction, I went up to the altar. After remaining silent at the altar for several minutes, I whispered, "God, I'm so alone." I immediately felt a shock wave go through my entire body, and the entire room. I felt 2 dozen hands placed on my back. I instinctively turned around to see who was touching me, and I only saw 2 people, each with one hand placed on my back, praying over me. I turned forward and focused on what I was feeling. Again, I felt 2 dozen or so hands on my back. At that moment, I realized that I was experiencing God, replying to my cry for help. I felt the immense weight of His love for me and I felt heavy burdens come off of me, like weights being lifted from my shoulders. I was forever changed that night. God showed me that it didn't matter that I was an atheist, adulterer, liar, and thief. He showed me that His love is greater than all of that.
That night, the Father saw that I was a long ways off, He was filled with compassion for me, He ran to me, and He threw His arms around me. (Luke 15:20)
I knew the very next day that I was called to tell the world of His love, and show the world His power.
