More about Guardian Support Foundation

GUARDIAN SUPPORT FOUNDATION
PTS(D) AFFECTS YOU…AND YOUR FAMILY
Today, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is discussed openly. Although some still consider PTSD a disorder that you or someone you know must be ashamed of, Guardian Support Foundation (GSF) is taking a different approach. GSF does not refer to PTSD as a “disease” or “disorder”. We are taking a stand and bringing about changes. We want to help you take the steps to bring love and hope back to the lives of you and your family.
Our logo tells the story:
Two paths reaching for the summit. One path challenged, mired in silence. The other, looking on, hoping and wishing to help. Both, searching for answers, love and hope. Together, they can reach heights never before seen.
PTS does not just affect those that were in a combat related role. It affects many first responders like your local Police Officer, Firefighter, Paramedic and others in life threatening situations. GSF is a non-profit organization that is here to give back to those that have given selflessly. We offer safe places where no person is judged and everyone is supported.
We help Active Military, Veterans and First Responders challenged by PTS. No matter the situation, we offer an organized setting to help overcome the effects of PTS. Our settings provide separate and safe group assembly for our Guardians to learn to work through or even avoid episodes of PTS.
We haven’t forgotten the rest of the family. All too often, the daily struggle often affects others. So we go above and beyond to help the family members as well. Providing a quiet safe place to learn what their loved one is going through and ways to learn how to better understand PTS and what they can do to help their loved one.
We know that PTS is not limited to those that may have been in combat. It affects our First Responders. PTS is no longer just “battle fatigue” or “shell shock”. Someone that has experienced trauma such as combat, physical or sexual assault, terrorism, a serious car accident or any number of other traumatic events can be affected by PTS. During a traumatic event, you may feel afraid, anxious, or feel that you have no control over what is happening around you or that you are in danger of losing your life. Although not everyone will get PTS, most people will have some stress-related reactions after a traumatic event.
If your reactions don't go away over time and your reactions or thoughts disrupt your life, you may have PTS.
Reach out today…we are here to help YOU!
