Gurnee Garden Center

The Gurnee Garden Center opened its doors in 1973. A young entrepreneur, Jerry Laux and his wife, Shirley, began small and leased land selling plants in the spring, fruits and vegetables in the summer and Pumpkins and apples in the fall. After 4 years they purchased land and began building the new Gurnee Garden Center, concentrating on spring and summer plants and fall crafts.
Annuals, Roses, Vegetables and Herbs:
The Gurnee Garden Center offers a wonderful selection of quality plants with the newest varieties. Since gardening should be fun and adventurous, every spring season you will find new perennials and new Proven Winners ® annuals. If it’s vegetable plants you fancy, choose from popular varieties of tomatoes, along with the heirloom plants which have once again gained popularity. There are many herbs for cooks looking to spice things up, or for those who just enjoy the aroma as the breeze blows the scent in the air.
As for you rose garden lovers, choices can be difficult with so many luscious roses available, so perhaps one of the new roses for 2011 might fit your needs. Hanging baskets have come along way from the old days, and now feature breathtaking combinations. With the big demand for container gardening, a super choice of Proven Winners ® annuals must be on hand.
