HackerFarm01007 is an open environment for independent and collaborative work in a variety of media. It is a place for teaching, learning, exploration, and creative expression. So far there are facilities for woodworking, welding, machining, and electronics assembly. See our tool inventory for more specific information. In addition to the workshop space, there is one acre of open land ready for small-scale agricultural projects; perhaps a greenhouse is even in our future. Our floor-to-ceiling chalkboard is a great way to plan out your project, get feedback, or see what others are up to.
The HackerFarm will be available on a drop-in hourly basis or a weekly/monthly membership basis, though we are still working out our structure for rates. There will also be opportunities for work exchanges to earn workshop time. We look forward to hosting a series of weekend Hacker Retreats beginning in September, where participants will have a chance to participate in a variety of workshops, enjoy open workshop time, learn particular tools, share ideas with other creative people and possibly form collaborations. Oh, and enjoy a wood-fired sauna in the backyard too!
HackerFarm01007 members are also available for consulting and custom projects in everything from metal and wood fabrication to networked environmental monitors and aerial photography.
