Hair Station Salon

A step back in time, a journey back to the 1970's. Located in North Carolina in a small, friendly southern town of Alliance in Pamlico County. This Beauty Salon has alot of local history which dates back to 1973. Originally built by Jerry Casey, local resident. He built a convenient mart named it "Casey's Corner" and his wife Cathy; her beauty salon adjoined the store. Many local stylist over the 30 plus years have worked with in these walls. Over the many years Casey's Corner and Cathy's Hair Styling was open for business and later sold and was known as Handy Mart and Lori Anns' Hair Styling. Lori Ann's Hair Styling stayed in business for 17 years and closed its doors for Lori Ann Walker to retire. The vacant hair salon sat empty for 4 years. With the highway widening of NC 55, the commercial building was put up for sale. The Handy Mart closed its doors and reopened to its new location just a few miles further up the road. The historical commercial corner was an eye sore for the whole county, abandoned, grown up with weeds and a sad looking place, that once held happy memories for many local residents.

This is when we, (my husband and I) Dennis and Vickie Moore) decided to lease the small unit that had always been a beauty salon. Many local residents were thrilled that some activity was cleaning up and improving the looks of the commercial property and building. The Hair Station Salon was ready and opened its doors for business October 9, 2009.

This commercial property was purchased in April 2011 by Johnny Warren of Vandemere. He has gave the building a complete new face-lift and new paved parking lot. I am very thankful for and to my new Landlord.

Johnny Warren has remodeled the old store into a new, modern showroom which is now the home of "Bay River Outfitters"! Come check them out!

And the little unit that is next to BAY RIVER OUTFITTERS has been a beauty shop since 1973 is still a beauty shop, and is known as the HAIR STATION SALON.
