Hakka Me

Hakka Me is not the chinese food you are use to in Maine. Hakka Me is a blend of local ingredients, imported spices, and techniques passed down many generations. Thirty years ago my grandpa immigrated to Oxford ME and started a Chinese-American restaurant, and the rest of our family follow suite. The restaurant was my go to after school- first doing dishes, than serving, followed by minor prep-work. After years of watching and learning the foundations, I was finally given the opportunity to cook. It was there that I learned the joy of cooking. But I was disappointed that we didn't share our delicious family recipes, what we ate before opening and between shifts. That’s what Hakka Me is all about- sharing my family’s favorite dishes with everyone.
