We have 4 miniature horses we bring to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living facilities etc. to enhance the physical and emotional health of people through equine therapeutic companionship.
Half Pint Horse Foundation is launching a social skills program for kids utilizing the socratic method of questioning while engaging in games with the horses which focus on 4 key areas: choices and consequences; boundaries-physical and emotional; respect and responsibility; empathy. This program benefits all kids, but especially children with special needs who would benefit from additional coaching in these areas.
Lastly, We have a literacy program in schools and libraries where we read stories about horses and then the kids get to interact with the animals. This program really gets kids excited about reading.
Our programs are funded by Half Pint Horse Foundation, a project of United Charitable Programs, a registered 501(c)3 public charity. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and help us bring these horses wherever they are needed most. Funds brought in from summer camps help to fund programs for the disabled and the elderly.
