More about Happy Valley Homestead

I am a member of NASSA (North American Shetland Sheep Association, ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association), NARBC (National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club) and ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association).

Raising home grown goodies for our family. Sometimes I'll have extras for sale, such as fiber for spinning, yarns, hand knit/crocheted/woven items, rabbits, lambs, goats, produce, free-range/pastured eggs, poultry, etc.

We raise an assortment of animals here, including Shetland sheep, Nigerian dwarf goats, English Angora rabbits, satin Angora rabbits, Sebastopol geese, muscovy ducks, peafowl, laying hens (Ameraucanas, leghorns and mixes for rainbow eggs) and will be adding our first Angora goats here soon!

Poultry:

Chickens (main breed - Ameraucana, blue eggs, although I have assorted colored eggs)

Coturnix Quail - Small speckled eggs, great for bite size appetizers! Also can be raised for meat purposes. Coturnix quail start laying in about 6 weeks after hatching (18 day incubation before they hatch).

Pekin ducks - These guys are great egg layers (the eggs are great for baking) and are an excellent meat bird. Duck meat is moist, delicious dark meat, like the drumstick of a chicken.

Call Ducks - These sweet little ducks are all pleasure. They are miniature ducks with a huge personality!

Toulouse Geese - These guys are great! They help protect the rest of the flock and alert us to anything wrong in the area. We'll be trying goose meat next year!

Peafowl - We just added peafowl this year. It will be some time before we have anything available for sale.
