Harrisburg Union Church

-We are a Christian church: we believe in the essential doctrines of the Christian faith (the fundamentals), such as the Inspiration of the Holy Bible, the Trinity, as well as the Deity, Virgin Birth, Substitutionary Death, Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and His office as Judge of the righteous, who will experience eternal bliss, and the unrighteous, who will experience eternal torment.

-We are a Gathered church: rather than being a parish church, where all those in a given area are members, we assemble for worship as believers, who have personally repented and put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

-We are an Independent church: we do not belong to any denomination, but handle all business as a local church. This does not mean, however, that we are provincial. We accept all who have put their faith in Christ as brothers and sisters. But we guard our independence as one means of protecting the gospel from some who claim to be "Christian" without actually being so. Thus, we do not extend fellowship to them, nor do we work in concert with them.

-We are a Conservative church: we are attempting to conserve, preserve and protect the gospel for this generation, and to hand it down to the next generation. We reject the fads of current Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism, whose practices assault the affections in violation of, among other passages, 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 and Philippians 4:8. We emphasize expository preaching to teach these truths.
