More about Harrison Fire & Rescue

The Town of Harrison Volunteer Fire Department was founded in May 1927 after a special town meeting was called and $5,000 was appropriated to buy the town's first fire engine.

Not even a century later, times have certainly changed. Harrison's firefighters are as well-trained and experienced as any "big city" fire department, with the most advanced technology available to better fight fires.

The Harrison Fire Department is a small volunteer fire department in rural Maine. I serve a population of approx. 2500 year round residents which swells to approx. 5000 during the summer. The department runs around 90 calls annually out of a single central station. I house 2 engines, a squad, a tanker, a forestry truck, and a multi-role brush truck/engine. My crews run a variety of calls, most being automobile accidents, grass/brush fires, and alarm activations, as well as mutual aid to our surrounding communities. Our EMS is provided by our First responders, PACE & United ambulance Hello and welcome....from the pride of Harrison, Maine.
