Hartselle Morgan County Community Task Force

We have a high level of Community Stakeholder commitment, including the Hartselle Community School District, Hartselle City Police, and the Hartselle City Mayor. Volunteers, Staff, and Board Members include Teachers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other professional, highly skilled individuals from the local community.

The average public school teacher does not have the time to invest with individual students who need additional tutoring. Existing after school programs are not fully utilized by those who need them, as some children are unable to participate due to transportation barriers, or other factors in their homes.

The current statistics show at LEAST 40% of students fail to graduate high school. This impacts the local and state economy, crime rate, teen pregnancy probablilities, drug and alchol abuse levels and state/federal budgets who must fund the inevetible entitlement programs.

Projected impact of HMCCTF:

Pre-testing for actual grade level attained, cooperation with the school district in sharing report cards, and coordination of this information for hands on tutoring are having an amazing, measurable outcome with participating students.

After school tutoring, combined with homework completion assistance, Summer literacy camps/programs, and vocational counseling encourage students to remain in school because they are successful.

Mentoring, Job Shadowing, access to technology, college prep awareness, along with prevention of drug/alcohol abuse and teen pregnancy are direction students to a higher level of completing high school, and career objectives.

The main goal of HMCCTF is a 100% graduation rate for all students participating.
