Bringing In- Many people have come to Harvest for one purpose...to find peace with God...and they have found it here. We have stayed the course in presenting the gospel to those who visit and those who are brought by friends to a Saturday or Sunday service...a friend…a family member…a cousin…a school teacher…a city official…a law officer…a soldier. A Saturday invitation…a church retreat...a visit to church...a counseling session…a Sunday school class…a men’s group…a crisis visit...they have come. One by one...seeking change...seeking God...seeking eternal life. We have been faithful to share with them the message of Christ, His grace and love. We have offered hope to a lost world. They have come through our doors. We have seen the Harvest and reaped.

Building Up- We believe that church is a place where we meet to equip the body of Christ and carry friendships into the future. These days, it’s hard to find friends and have time for friends. Fellowship at church gives us that opportunity. People are what counts. Relationships are how we grow, learn and reach out. For many, Harvest is their family as well.

Serving Together- Harvest is a place to get involved. There are huge opportunities in the Kingdom of God. The mistake that many Christians make is to come in and get built up, but find no outlet for their new found knowledge and passion for God. As a result, they become “pew sitters” waiting for others to get the work done. But if the truth be known, it is usually the fear that if they serve, they may fail or be inadequate in serving. But the Apostle Paul says this: "Therefore I remind you (Timothy) to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.” 2 Tim 1:6-8

Let’s not be afraid to fail. As leadership teacher, John Maxwell said, “If you fail, fail fast!” We will all fail somewhere along the line. It’s what we do with failure that counts. Do we learn from our failures and rise to the next challenge? We will always be confronted with fear if we serve God. It’s remembering that “God has not given us that spirit of fear, but of power and love and wisdom with self control.” At Harvest, we want to maintain an atmosphere that allows for failure in attempting to use our gifts as well as the success in using our gifts. It’s about taking the first step. We want to serve a great God who has gifted us and expects us to serve Him.
