More about Haunted High

Oconomowoc Public Education Foundation (OPEF) kicks off the haunting season on October 4 with the theme Dark Carnival. Formerly known as Haunted High, OPEF moved the haunted attraction last year to the old Enterprise building in Downtown Oconomowoc at 212 Wisconsin Avenue.

10,000 sq feet of haunting intensity!

The terrifying new haunted attraction is presented by the same group of volunteer design/builders as those that brought us Haunted High, which was voted the best haunt in the Midwest multiple times. OPEF’s thriller remains one of the top-rated haunts in Southeastern Wisconsin since relocating. Annually, this haunt could not be possible without the 70+volunteers – with 50 specters, zombies, carnies in the haunt each night ready and waiting to induce the fear unto you. Expect fear-inducing actors, special effects, lighting and sounds that only a dark carnival could exhibit.

The Dark Carnival will be open October 4, October 10-11, October 17-18, October 24-25 and October 31. Hours are 7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Ticketing opens at 6:30 p.m. The haunt is for ages 10-13 years with an accompanied adult, and 14 and older. Ticket prices are $15 and fast passes are available for $23. The average time to navigate the Dark Carnival is about 22 minutes.

On Saturday, October 25 the Dark Carnival will be open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for kids ages 5-12 (must be accompanied by an adult) or for the timid at heart. This date is in conjunction with the Downtown Oconomowoc business trick-or-treating. Ticket prices are five dollars, and kids will receive candy as they wander the haunt with the lights on.

All proceeds of the haunted attraction go to OPEF, which funds grants for materials, equipment and projects to enhance classroom education and innovation. For more information, visit www.opef.info.
