More about Haverhill Firefighting Museum

Since the day the museum was born, our team of board members and volunteers have worked tirelessly to build the museum into what it is today, and now it's time to take it to the next level.
Though families often visit our museum, adults have been our biggest fans because in a museum you can look, but you're not supposed to touch.
We want children to be excited about firefighting, so we've started a children's corner that includes a 12-foot wooden fire truck children can play in, fire hoses and reels, children's firefighting gear, and a fire safety smoke tunnel. We would like to add a play ambulance, a fire pole with thick mats, and interactive exhibits. We are creating a fire prevention and safety curriculum to take into third grade classrooms, and enhancing the tours for when classrooms visit the museum.
For adults and families we have a timeline display of firefighting uniforms and apparatus from colonial times to present day.
You will also find Antique Trucks including the L.V. Spaulding Handtub, a horse drawn Water Tower, antique firefighting equipment, rescue equipment, fire log books dating back to "The Great Conflagration of 1882", early helmets, badges and photos, a Gamewell Alarm system, mini theatre with firefighting videos including scenes from actual fires.,
Come visit us and see what we are all about!
