Hawaiian Beaches is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States located in the District of Puna. The population was 3,709 at the 2000 census.GeographyHawaiian Beaches is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 25.6sqmi, of which, 25.4sqmi of it is land and 0.2sqmi of it is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 3,709 people, 1,192 households, and 923 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 145.8 people per square mile (56.3/km²). There were 1,383 housing units at an average density of 54.4 per square mile (21.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 27.99% White, 0.65% African American, 0.49% Native American, 16.69% Asian, 15.45% Pacific Islander, 1.05% from other races, and 37.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.64% of the population.There were 1,192 households out of which 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 17.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% were non-families. 17.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.11 and the average family size was 3.49.
