Hawkinsville Harness Training Center

Harness Racing has been in Georgia since 1894 begining with the Pulaski County Fair Association having races at the "old track" . Just down the road from the old track a new "Lawrence Bennett Harness Horse Facility" was built in 1976 (when Jimmy Carter was governor)_where trainers from all over the United States and Canada have been coming here ever since. The Season runs from Oct 1st to May 1st. Every April there is a "Harness Festival" held at the track featuring Matinee and Qualifying races.
