Hawthorn Suites (Building B)

Together, Hemlock Suites (Building A) and Hawthorn Suites (Building B) house about 969 students and opened for occupancy January, 2012.

Hawthorn Suites features individually controlled heating and air conditioning, laundry facilities throughout every floor, and beautiful lounges. Each suite includes private bathrooms and kitchenettes.

Located within Hawthorn Suites is the new campus fitness center, REC B. Hemlock Suites now houses the Department of Residence Life and Housing, and will eventually included the University Police Headquarters.

The new residence halls are complementary in architectural style to the new Warrren E.’55 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center and the Student Recreation Center located throughout campus.

The new buildings incorporate geothermal technology and other “green” features to ensure energy efficiency. Also, in keeping with the newest trends nationally, the buildings feature one to four student suites with no more than two students sharing private bathrooms. The buildings also include state-of-the-art security features and surround small new attractive outdoor green spaces.
