Hazelwood Family Medicine is a full-service independent medical practice serving the needs of children and adults throughout western North Carolina. Our founder, George W. Brown, MD, now retired, practiced medicine for over 50 years. In 2002, Dr. Brown’s son, Michael A. Brown, MD joined his father in serving our patients. We also have a Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth Carmichael, FNP that specializes in women’s health. Together they bring a wonderful combination of knowledge and caring in order to serve your individualized health care needs.

It is our mission is to provide complete health care to the entire family through preventive maintenance care. Preventive medicine is the most effective way to reduce the high cost of medical care.
