Hazlett Piano

I first started learning piano when I was 12. I enjoyed it but after only one year I was not that interested anymore. A few years down the road things changed. I fell in love with a piece. I knew that I wanted to learn it and so I taught myself how to. It was so painstakingly slow that in order for me to play the piece I had to memorize it as my sight reading was almost non-existent. Now I sight read well and play for others every chance I get. Because of my experience I teach differently. I try my best to inspire my students to love the piano and what they can do on it. The experiences I have had with this have affirmed to me that children learn best when they are inspired.
