At Heart-n-Soul, We aim to:
- Help eliminate local hunger and food insecurity by creating a bridge between individuals, service groups, schools, the faith community, and community agencies
- Eliminate food waste
- Build a healthy community through nutrition and wellness education
- Build a healthy community by providing for the basic need of food in a respectful and dignified manner to anyone who walks through the door
Food Insecurity is a community issue that resonates with us. Food insecurity exists when individuals lack sustainable physical or economic access to enough safe, nutritious food for a healthy, productive life. Food insecurity may be chronic, seasonal, or temporary.
According to Feeding America, there are 630,190 people who experience food insecurity in North Dakota and Minnesota, and 20,890 of these people reside in Cass and Clay counties. At Heart-n-Soul, we hope to raise awareness about food insecurity in our local community and make a positive impact by providing meals for people who need them, no matter what.
