Heavenly Homestead Adult Foster Care

"Heavenly Homestead Adult Foster Care, LLC" is pleased to provide services to individuals with both physical and developmental disabilities--as well as mental illnesses, such as Alzheimer's and other dementias. We welcome residents of both sexes.

We have two homes. Both are barrier-free with complete first floor accommodations. We have separate dining, living, and activity rooms, along with both private and semi-private bedrooms. All areas are wheelchair and walker accessible. Our "farm house" is for individuals needing "assisted living" with less direct care. The new building, our "Big House," is designed to fit the needs of individuals requiring direct care of all levels.

For outdoor enjoyment, we have enclosed decks, a pavillion, and recreation areas. With our country setting, it is easy to enjoy the wildlife. Deer, rabbits, chipmunks, and a variety of birds are frequent visitors.

Special activities include arts and crafts, games, movies, and exercise. Various church groups and local bands also pay us regular visits. One-on-one attention is also extremely important to us, whether it be reading to a resident, listening to music together, or simply just talking.

Based on each individual's needs and abilities, we teach and reinforce skills in dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting. Of course, complete care is given to those in need. We are also happy to provide our residents with a visiting hairdresser each month.

We provide our residents with three home-cooked meals daily, along with snacks. Our meals are based on the established nutritional guidelines. If needed, special diets are available. Meal time assistance is provided, whether it be supervision, help, or complete feeding.

Our staff is trained in medication administration, certified in CPR and First Aid, and knowledgeable in Person Centered Planning. We are also certified in "Recipient Rights" according to the guidelines established by Community Mental Health for Central Michigan. For our residents' safety and vonvenience, we are contracted with visiting physicians and registered nurses, along with psychiatric home care providers. Both medical and psychiatric care is always available.

"Heavenly Homestead" is committed to providing individualized services with the goal of creating optimal health and quality of life. Each resident's personal choices and preferences is a prioirty when helping to acheive these goals.

For your loved one's choice, we offer both private and semi-private bedrooms. They are quite large and typically include a bed, table and chair, dresser, wardrobe closet, and a television. Satellite cable stations are also available. At this time, we are pleased to offer semi-private rooms for $2000 per month and private rooms for $2500. These are private-pay rates. However, we do work with Region 7 and other community health programs when applicable.
