More about Helping Paws Pet Pantry

Who are we?
Our organization was started in April of 2009. Our original mission was to help individuals who were having difficulties caring for their animals due to unforeseen financial struggles. As we began this mission, however, we found ourselves drawn more towards animal rescues and shelters within Wisconsin. Having been exposed to a shelter environment, we truly understood the real need that these rescues and shelters face on a daily basis when trying to care for the hundreds of abused, abandoned, homeless and neglected animals that come through their doors. Because of this, we began to focus on helping them.
With the help of organizations such as A.W.A.R.E (Alliance for the Wisconsin Animal Relocation Effort) and B.R.A.T.S. (Badger Rescue Animal Transport) , we were able to get the word out that we were here to help. We have already been able to help many wonderful animal rescues and shelters throughout the state. With our organization receiving our 501(c)(3) non-profit status, we are now able to solicit businesses in hopes to get donated items that then, can be shared.

Our Goal
Our ultimate goal is to provide monthly donations such as pet food, blankets, beds, toys, leashes, bowls, etc., and eventually monetary help for such things as spays and neuters or emergency vet care, to any Wisconsin animal rescue or shelter that needs our help.

How you can help
Team up with your co-workers, schoolmates or friends and organize a donation drive by collecting old towels, blankets or any other items you think would be useful.
• Do some fundraising on your own. All of the monies raised through fundraising will go directly into purchasing items for donation.
• Become a member of Helping Paws. 95% of the monies raised through memberships will go directly into purchasing items for donation. The remaining 5% goes towards things like rental fees for our storage area and gas for our vehicles when making donation dropoffs.
• Help spread the word about Helping Paws to others in the community.
• Help by offering to transport needed items to various drop-off points throughout the State.
• Help spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering all animals to help alleviate the strain on Wisconsin animal rescues and shelters and help stop the needless deaths of so many wonderful, loving animals.
