Hewn Outdoor Foods, LLC

Ben Alidjani was born in Boise, Idaho and lived in Idaho his whole life. He has been an avid outdoor enthusiast all of his life. From learning to fish just after he could walk, to going hunting with his father and grandfather he also has become an obsessive backpacker for the last 8 years, and he’s no slouch when it comes to food either. Ben’s passion, other than the great outdoors, is quality of service and crafting great tasting food. He started out cooking for his father when he was 15 years old and has been in the industry ever since. With 15 years of experience from cooking to serving and working his way up to General Manager at a well know local restaurant, he understands that food needs to look as delicious as it taste.

Kenny Aucoin was born in Louisiana and moved to Idaho as a very young child. While growing up in Idaho he got to experience and enjoy much of what the Northwest outdoors has to offer. He discovered a passion for cooking in high school and later went on to obtain a degree in culinary arts. His journey for culinary knowledge landed him in a world-renowned restaurant in Manhattan New York called Eleven Madison Park, which is a New York Times 4 star, accredited French inspired Restaurant that also maintains 3 Michelin Stars. His passion took him further to Portland, Oregon where he rose to the rank of Sous-chef of a fine dining establishment.

Ben and Kenny, after taking many backpacking trips had an epiphany to combine their culinary skills and savvy outdoor know-how to create Hewn Outdoor Foods LLC. The quality of good outdoor foods was missing something. Ben and Kenny aim to fix that with handcrafted gourmet meals with high quality product. From simply sautéing every vegetable to marinating the protein they realized that just a little passion for the food yielded great results.
