Higher Ground Hill Country Ministries

The mission of Higher Ground Ministries to to bring people into a deeper relationship with God and a better understanding of His unconditional love and forgiving nature. Higher Ground is intended to enhance the Christian’s commitment to God, family and the church. Higher Ground is a ministry of self-evaluation designed to reveal weaknesses in the individual and to find ways to correct them by the word of God so that they become strongholds. Higher Ground is a loving environment of encouragement through edification and reaching out to others through God’s word.
Higher Ground is truly a safe haven. Each retreat (or as we call it a spiritual climb) is an intimate setting which encourages open discussion. Throughout the course of the weekend, you will hear about a dozen speakers share their personal stories within the context of various topics. After each topic, there will be round table discussions. Each weekend also allows for quiet meditation time and there is always a lot of singing and worship. One of the most common responses we hear from people who attend Higher Ground is that they realize they are not alone. So often as Christians we don’t develop the deep relationships with one another that allow us to share our struggles, challenges and victories. Higher Ground cuts through that barrier and allows people to draw strength from fellow Christians. Higher Ground helps Christians deepen their relationship with Christ.

We believe that true life is found only in living in constant connection to Christ. Living in this relationship moves us to higher ground. Following Jesus changes the way we live. He changes our relationship in the home and in the workplace. In fact, Jesus changes everything… and that leads us to live in the here and now on a higher plane. Jesus is the only way for a person to live on higher ground eternally. This conviction and a desire to encourage others to live this way are at the heart of Higher Ground Ministries.
