Hi, I'm Tim Maynard, owner of Highland Guitar Studio. As a fixture in the Manchester musical community for the past 15 years, I have created what I think is the complete guitar experience. I teach guitar lessons of virtually any style and experience. My 20+ years of teaching experience has given me the insight to write my own beginner method for guitar. For new beginners, this is a great start. For those that have been at it for a while, we'll develop an approach that get you to where you want to be and gives you what you'll need to know.
I also provide lessons on bass, mandolin and banjo. While not my primary instruments, I do play these from time to time in professional settings. Additionally, I provide consultation to songwriters honing their craft. My passion is music and I love to share what I know.
Located within an historic building, my studio space is not your typical space for guitar lessons. It is equipped with amplifiers, effects and recording equipment. Everything you might need to sound great. Some students prefer to record their lessons for reference using an iPad. That's fine with me as they're likely to excel sooner.
I also host a monthly recitals for students that are ready to perform. Whether it's a beginner ready to show off their rendition of 'Twinkle, Twinkle' to bands made up of students rocking out, there's plenty of opportunities throughout the year to play in front of an audience as you learn the finer points of performing
The studio is located at 642 Hilliard Street, Suite 1203 within the historic Hilliard Mills.
