More about Highlands Community Services

Our services span multiple areas, all interwoven to provide wrap-around services and the most comprehensive care possible.

HCS Adult Recovery Services provide a community support system for people in recovery who have a serious mental illness and have difficulty functioning independently in the community. We are able to provide support with the goals of preventing hospitalization, focusing on strengths and abilities, accessing needed resources, and maintaining natural support systems through meaningful relationships.

HCS Intellectual Disability Services provide a detailed Person-Centered Plan to individuals with significant limitations both in intellectual functioning and in adaptive behavior, originating before the age of 18. Our agency believes that within every disability is ability, and that a good life is possible for all individuals we serve.

HCS Outpatient Services are designed to provide an array of services for children, adolescents, and adults whose substance abuse or emotional challenges have caused significant impairment in social, vocational, educational and/or family functioning but who do not require hospitalization. We focus on specific issues that are crucial to achieving or maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

HCS Emergency Services provide attentive, emergent care to consumers and families who present as needing immediate assistance. Emergency Services include triage, information and referral, appointment scheduling, discharge planning, and crisis intervention. More often than not, Emergency Services staff can be found at our local hospital providing services within the emergency room setting.

HCS Psychiatric Clinic Services implement appropriate medication services for qualifying HCS consumers. Psychiatric Services are provided by the staff, medical director, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, and contract psychiatrists working together as a team.

HCS Children's Services serve families, children, and adolescents in multiple settings including local schools, homes, in the community, and at HCS clinical office locations. Areas include school-based services, intensive family services, care coordination, autism services, crisis stabilization, early intervention, prevention, and many more that are specifically designed to meet the needs of at-risk children and their families.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
