We have been playing this version for over 20 years, the difference mainly is the scoring system and we use 3 inch washers instead of 21/2. Are holes are 4 inches instead of 3. The reason we use this combination is our boards are longer in the front, this allows you to play more like regular horseshoes and slide your washers in the hole instead of try to aim at the hole every time, (thus the reason we use a slightly larger washer). Our boards are constructed out of the best materials, solid wood frames, industrial glue, 3 inch screws, the best wood glue and carpet out there. Which means they will provide you with many years of fun for the family. Hillbilly Horseshoes can be played by people of all ages, the washers are only 90 grams compared to 3 lb horseshoes which limit older people with heath issues, and younger children that cant pick them up.
