The Hilo Health Cooperative is the first consumer cooperative fitness center in the U.S.. Partnered with the East Hawaii Independent Physicians Association.
The co-op was founded in June, 2014 by 23 shareholders who were CrossFitters and yogi’s. We all share a passion to dramatically improve not only our personal health but the health of our East Hawaii community.
The Hilo Health Cooperative acquired the CrossFit Big Island program, partnered with the local M.D. association and evolved into an Optimum Health program with Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced programs. Optimum Health Assessments required every three months. We improve what we measure.
Working with major health insurance providers to pay for M.D. prescribed S.M.A.R.T. exercise classes at the Health Co-op.
The Hilo Health Cooperative is “not for profit" but pays its member-owners to exercise.
No contracts. Personal coaching small classes less than $8 per hour. A consumer cooperative is individuals working together to create BEST VALUE. Open to the public.
