More about Hingham Maritime Center

The original Lincoln Sailing Club was formed in 1970 by a group of community-minded avid sailors who wanted to bring this sport to a broader segment of the youth in Hingham and nearby towns. Rowing was added in 2002 and has enjoyed great popularity. In 2005, we changed our name to Lincoln Maritime Center to reflect the broader scope in our activities. Then in 2015 the name was updated to Hingham Maritime Center to honor the town and community that we have called our home since the first season in 1970.

In 2007, Lincoln was awarded the Massachusetts Bay Sailing Association Leonard B. Fowle Yacht Club of the Year Award. Many other individual awards and accolades are connected with HMC, with many of our participants, both youth and masters, going on to compete in prestigious competitions such as Head of the Charles, the CRASH-Bs, and the Junior Sailing Olympics.

Over the years we have hosted a variety of organizations including Hingham High Crew, HHS Sailing Team, Notre Dame Academy's Sailing Team, Thayer Academy's Rowing Team, South Shore SNAP program, and many more.

A licensed non-profit organization, HMC offers scholarships based on financial need which are available to eligible sailors and rowers of all ages. For more information email: contact@hinghammaritime.org.
