Founded in 1892, Historic First Lutheran Church is a warm and welcoming multi-ethnic, bilingual, Cathedral-Style Ministry o the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
First Lutheran is one of the oldest churches in Pasadena and it is the San Gabriel Valley's oldest Lutheran congregation. The church building itself is over 75 years old and is designated a Pasadena City Landmark. Through the churches Historic First Luthern founded, all other Lutheran Churchs in Los Angeles and San Bernardino County have been started, making Historic First Lutheran the Mother/Grandmother/Great-Grandmother church of those counties.
Today, the Historic First Lutheran has 250 members that is 40 percent black, 40 percent white, and 20 percent Latino.
Offering programs designed to minister to body and soul are offered for people of all ages. Our convenient location close to downtown Pasadena enables people from throughout Southern California to attend our worship services and get involved in our mission and ministry.
