Historic Highlands Inn

As you step into the warm, welcoming lobby you will step back into history of times long ago. A time when Highlands began to acquire its upscale resort reputation, a role that Highlands Inn was an integral part. Each season the horse-drawn carriages of wealthy southerners, mostly from the coastal lowlands, journeyed the 4180' elevation through the Blue Ridge to Highlands to escape the heat of summer.

The Historic Highlands Inn, open between the months of April through November, is the perfect place for a vacation, weekend getaway or group function. Our guests enjoy exploring the endless nooks and crannies and entertaining their guests in the Billiards Room, the rock garden or the rooftop terrace.

The Rock Garden is the perfect outdoor setting for your small, intimate outdoor Wedding Ceremony.

The Inn has been listed on the National Registry for Historic Places since 1991.
