Historic Mossy Creek District

Historic Mossy Creek was originally founded in 1788 and quickly became a bustling district for early pioneers of the region. With its close proximity to Mossy Creek, Carson-Newman College, and Cherokee Lake this district is a prime area for redevelopment and was recognized in 2011 by the Tennessee Downtowns Program through the State of Tennessee

The current plans are to re-purpose the downtown as a regional festival and event venue and community gathering spot dotted with restaurants and local retail.
