With the recent debut as the Holiday Inn St. Louis SW – Route 66 the hotel has not only unveiled a new personality and new surroundings but a focus on a greener future.
When travelers enter the new guest room the first thing they’ll notice is the absence of customary hotel carpeting. On the cutting edge of environmentally friendly accommodations we have replaced the typical hotel carpets with a vinyl alternative. This luxury vinyl flooring made of 50% recycled materials replicates the beauty of real wood while being hygienic, quiet and 100% recyclable. Additionally we have replaced the heating and cooling units with energy efficient components and installed low-flow toilets and shower heads for water conservation.
We have increased our energy proficiency by the addition of our rooftop solar panels and have switched to LED lighting with an estimated energy productivity of 80%-90% when compared to traditional lighting and conventional light bulbs.
