Holy Assumption Orthodox Church

A Beacon of Orthodoxy on the Marblehead Peninsula for over 100 years, Holy Assumption bears witness to the Holy Orthodox Faith of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, founded at Pentecost in 33 A.D. Our temple is the oldest Orthodox church building in the State of Ohio. Founded by Carpatho-Russian immigrants, our parish today welcomes both new Orthodox members as well as converts, and plays an active role in the life of our community. Holy Assumption is an Orthodox church in the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). We are in the Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest. Our bishop is Bishop Paul (Gassios).
