About Us...

Home Grown Cakes is a homegrown business that operates out of our private certified commercial baking kitchen in Northern Kentucky, servicing the Greater Cincinnati Area. We use natural, gourmet, farm-fresh, and homegrown ingredients to craft yummy artisan fare wedding cakes and other delicious desserts.

We use Kentucky-grown unbleached flour, pure cane sugar, free-range eggs, grass-fed dairy milk, farm-fresh jams, homegrown herbs and fruits, real vanilla, rich cream butter, decadent cocoa, and other gourmet ingredients in all of our products. While many ingredients we use are indeed organic, we can make sure your cake is 100% organic if that is your pleasure.

Andrea Dee, an imaginative baker, professionally trained cake designer, avid gardener, and momma to sweet little Daisy June, operates Home Grown Cakes with the help of her husband, Troy, experienced dishwasher, professional cake taxi driver, devoted IT man, and daddy to the little flower child.

We are also lucky enough to have endless support of family and friends who help in the kitchen and in the garden too. A Sincere thank you to all who have made this dream a reality! Especially my own momma who helped me make my first blue ribbon cake for the county fair and my most lovely Grandma June whom supplied the basement we started Home Grown Cakes in more officially 5 years ago.

Today we operate out of a NKY Health Department Certified Commercial Kitchen located within our own home out in the beautiful countryside of California, Kentucky. Just 25 minutes south of Cincinnati, off the scenic AA Hwy. We proudly consistently maintain a 100% score for sanitary operations with the Health Department and our commercial baking kitchen is of course isolated from our family kitchen.

Aside from cakeing we enjoy growing delicious fresh produce in our backyard, picking flower bouquets, chicken wrangling, camping, kayaking, mountain biking, laughing with friends, and long walks on the beach...or a winding trail.
