Home of the Innocents

Home of the Innocents (the Home) is where Louisville’s vulnerable children and their families find emotional, physical, and intellectual support that can transform their lives.

Since 1880—before the great buildings and parks, before the famous names and celebrated events—we’ve been here providing the at-risk children and families in our community the important residential and community-based programs they need to become strong again.

We believe that by working together we can transform the health of our city’s future, the health of our city’s families, the health of our city’s children.

Our programs create a safe haven for children who’ve been abused. We provide crisis intervention services, clinical treatment and therapeutic loving foster and adoption services.

The Home also operates a skilled nursing facility for medically complex children who are often dependent on technology to sustain life.

We provide healthcare in a wide variety of disciplines for any child in the community.

Thanks to our many supporters, we built the Children’s Village, an amazing campus that impacts children’s lives throughout our region. For many of these children, this is where hope begins.

We are Home of the Innocents.

And we are the heart of our city.
